After George Allen's easy win in the Republican primary for the Virginia U.S. Senate race yesterday, pretty much every metric is predicting a very tight race this November between Allen and Democratic candidate Tim Kaine.
Virginia will hold primaries next week in advance of this year's Congressional and Senate elections. While voters in uncontested districts can weigh in on Tim Kaine's opponent, voters in contested districts have to make a choice.
It's believed that a GOP primary in Virginia would do more to favor moderate candidates in the commonwealth like Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling, which is why he's resisting calls for a return to the convention style.
