Pets Find Shelter In D.C. After Alabama Tornado

Thirty-seven dogs and four cats rescued in the aftermath of the tornadoes that struck Alabama are now calling the District home. The pets are now being cared for at the Washington Animal Rescue League, after a 17-hour, life-saving trip in an animal ambulance.

Pets Rescued From Tornado Brought To D.C. Shelter

The tornado that devastated Alabama has also wreaked havoc with thousands of pets. The Tuscaloosa animal shelter has seven times more abandoned and hurt animals than usual. Some of those displaced pets are hoping to find a home in the District.
