Membership Staff
Of the top 15 public radio stations nationwide, WAMU's individual giving staff is one of the smallest. The Department of Individual Giving comprises the following individuals:
Walt Gillette
Director of Individual Giving
Walt is the Director of Development for WAMU 88.5. The station's diversified individual giving program staff account for approximately 45% of the station's annual operating budget. Despite the challenging economic climate, in the station's most recently completed fiscal year, WAMU 88.5's development revenue from donors increased to more than $6.55 million and the number of contributors increased to approximately 45,000 donors.
Stacy Anderson
Membership Marketing Manager
Stacy came to WAMU in 2002 and now manages the member services team and direct response fundraising.
Melanie McCarty
Member Service Associate
Melanie McCarty has been a Member Service Associate at WAMU since 2002. She assists members with membership issues and questions, by phone, email, and mail.

Lucy Horn has been a Member Service Associate at WAMU since 2001. She assists members with membership issues and questions, by phone, email, and mail.
Andrea Leifer
Manager of Special Giving
Andrea Leifer joined WAMU in July, 2005. She served as the Major Gift Officer for the Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Manager of Volunteer and Visitor Services at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Andrea is thrilled to be working in the public broadcasting field and for her favorite radio station, WAMU 88.5 FM -- she is a loyal and devoted listener.
