Last week, the U.S. Department of Education released a list of 55 colleges and universities under investigation for their handling of sexual violence complaints. The investigations were launched under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, a law best known for guaranteeing women and girls equal access to school sports. We talk with the head of the Education Department's Office for Civil Rights.
