What kind of government do we really have in Washington?Researchers at Princeton and Northwestern universities examined nearly 1,800 government policies enacted between 1981 and 2002, comparing them to the expressed preferences of Americans in middle and upper income brackets. They concluded that economic elites and business interests have substantial impact on policy making, while other movements have limited influence.
