And while online retailers make it easy to buy and sell raw materials and finished products, they don't allow for a tactile, hands-on assessment of the goods before purchase. We consider what happens when a burgeoning DIY movement meets a shrinking number of brick-and-mortar suppliers and a flourishing online marketplace.
