Radio Lab Live Presentation at Koshland Science Museum

Thu., Apr. 24, 2008 at 6 p.m.

Join us at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 24, as WAMU 88.5 and Koshland Science Museum present a live presentation of "Radio Lab," one of public radio's most unique and creative programs.

Enjoy a live demonstration of how science can be communicated through a patchwork of people, sounds, stories, and experiences. It's science investigation at its best. Tickets are $15 and are available by contacting the Koshland Science Museum box office at 202.334.1201 or ksm@nas.edu.

The episode, which will focus on infectious laughter, will be recorded from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A 6 p.m., reception honoring honoring hosts Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich precedes the taping. Abumrad and Krulwich will meet guests and provide audience members a "behind-the-scenes" look at the production of the show.

Radiolab, which is produced by WNYC and airs on National Public Radio, is syndicated nationally and is heard on more than 150 stations. The show uses an interactive format comprised of interviews and rich sound to communicate abstract and prosaic scientific concepts, including time, mortality, memory, and stress. Radiolab was recognized by the National Academies as a winner of the 2007 Communication Award for excellence in science communication. It can be heard on WAMU 88.5 at 6 p.m., Sundays.
