Mid-Season TV Replacement Shows Hope To Score Big

At this time of year, mid-season network television shows are coming to a small screen near you. Returning hits like American Idol premiere along with a batch of new shows launched to replace canceled titles from the fall. Jim Hibberd, who covers television for Entertainment Weekly, talks to Linda Wertheimer about some of the new replacement shows.

A trial gets underway Wednesday in one of the biggest public corruption cases Ohio has ever seen. Former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora will try to convince a jury he did not run a criminal enterprise from the county's administration building.

Stolen E.T. Statue Returned To Owner

A British woman had a break-in back in September, and thieves stole a life-size statue of E.T. She thought it was gone for good until last week, when a passerby saw it floating in a river and called the police. They reunited the statue with its owner.

N. Korean Kaesong Workers Mourn Kim Jong Il

The Kaesong Industrial Complex is a joint North Korea and South Korea experiment. Every day hundreds of workers from South Korea go to work in North Korea, and thousands of workers from North Korea go to jobs in South Korean factories at the complex. The atmosphere was heavy after North Korean leader Kim Jong Il died.

Obama Wins Iowa's Democratic Caucuses

The Iowa caucuses — the first contest of the 2012 presidential nominating season — were held Tuesday night. President Obama was unopposed, but Democrats met in caucuses across the state for what was essentially a pep rally.

Teen Sleeps Through Stop On Southwest Airlines

Erik McBee, 15, faced a test of his survival skills. He was traveling on Southwest Airlines, and fell asleep. He slept through the landing at his destination, Tulsa. KPHO TV says he woke up in St. Louis with no contacts, no money and no phone.
