It's time for our annual "Traditions" show! This year, we'll meet local residents who are blending very different traditions and keeping old rituals alive. We'll check out the D.C. public schools'overhaul of traditional methods of teaching math. And we'll check out an elaborate, high-wattage holiday lights display that's become a must-visit destination for many Washington families.

Giuseppe Arcimboldo was a 16th-century artist who liked to play with his food, transforming it into the building blocks of many of his fantastical portraits.
