MS. REBECCA SHEIR
Welcome to "Metro Connection." I'm Rebecca Sheir and today's show is all about commitment. And I got to admit this sort of feels like one of those topics you might mull over in, like, January, you know, when we're all making those resolutions to eat better, exercise more, you know, that kind of thing. But really, how many of us actually keep those resolutions, commit to them? I mean, come to think of it, what is the secret commitment? Why are some things easier to commit to than others and why are some of us better able to stick with those things?
MS. REBECCA SHEIR
Well, we don't quite have the answers to those questions today, but we do have an exciting hour of stories about Washingtonians wrestling with and, in some cases, wholeheartedly embracing commitment. We'll meet a bride-to-be whose environmental zeal is leading her to serve an invasive species at her wedding this weekend. We'll go on rounds with a Negro league baseball player turned security guard who harbors a lifelong love for America's pastime. And we'll go inside a hardcore exercise craze known by some as the cult of CrossFit.
