This Week On Metro Connection: Going Places

Welcome to "Metro Connection." I'm Rebecca Sheir. And though the weather here in the Washington region has been kind of back and forth of late, we've had more than a few days with rampant sunshine and balmy temperatures have hinted at the summer to come. And for many people, summer means travel, vacation, a chance to get away and trot around the globe, the country, even your own backyard. So on this week's show, we're celebrating that spirit with a theme we call Going Places.

Over the next hour, we'll scoot all over the place from a late night nature trek complete with sounds of critters that go bump in the night to a spectacular cross country road trip with a very special stop in D.C. And later, we'll pull out our waterproof boots and hike through the marshes of Maryland's Assateague Island in search of the most elusive of the islands famous wild horses.
