In honor of Veterans Day, we're going in the trenches...

As our nation honors our war veterans, we feature stories about people "in the trenches." We'll go back to an era when our nation's capital was surrounded by nearly 70 forts. We'll look at the battle for control of Virginia's General Assembly, and find out how the results of Tuesday's election may affect the lives of local residents. We'll also meet college seniors in the Reserve Officer Training Corps, or ROTC, and hear how they're preparing for military service.
