This Week on Metro Connection: Mysteries, Puzzles & Enigmas

Welcome to "Metro Connection," I'm Rebecca Sheir. And as we cruise through the sunny days of summer, this week we're moving toward the dark side, if you will, as in the unknown, the mysterious, the puzzling and enigmatic stuff that leaves you scratching your head and wondering, ah, what's up with that?

Well, today, we're hoping to answer that question and actually ask a whole load of new ones as we explore mysteries, puzzles and enigmas of the D.C. region. We'll investigate the elaborate tunnels discovered beneath DuPont Circle in the early 1900s replete, by the way, with electric light bulbs and German language newspapers plastered on the walls. And we'll also meet some locals who make and sell puzzles, plus we'll decode and decipher D.C.'s gun laws and hang out with zombies in the insect world.
