MS. REBECCA SHEIR
Welcome to "Metro Connection," I'm Rebecca Sheir. And today, we are getting the message, bringing you a bunch of stories and interviews all about language and communication. We'll take a look at written language as we dive into D.C.'s secret subculture of graffiti and we'll explore the spoken word as we visit a nearby island with the most distinctive dialect. Plus, we'll hear about new ways of discussing the birds and the bees and we'll revisit the Metro crash of June 2009, when track circuits failed to communicate properly and caused the deadliest accident in Metro rails history.
