Nature via Metro

a Metro Connection series

When naturalist Mark Garland joins us on the show, we often talk about parks and nature walks within the beltway or a short distance from DC. But this summer, as part of a continuing series, we narrow our focus to Metro-accessible nature. We'll visit natural areas that are all within a short walk of the Metro rail line.

Series

Find out how Mark and David wrapped up the series and answered your questions during a live Web chat. Check it out on The Conversation.

Back in May, we visited the East Falls Church Metro stop, hopped off the train, and -- within moments -- we were strolling through the leafy refuge of Benjamin Banneker Park. Based on your feedback, we decided to get back on the rails and produce a continuing series.

Starting this month we'll visit Metro stops around the DC region and let you know about some of the parks and natural areas that are tucked away just around the corner. Bring your walking shoes and join us as we hop off the region's transportation system and into the area's vast network of interconnected parks and trails.

Our next "Nature via Metro" stop will air on Metro Connection on Friday, August 7th.
