It's been two years since Adrian Fenty swept into office as mayor of DC, saying his number one priority was improving public education. He hired school chancellor Michelle Rhee and together, they've closed down about two dozen schools, fired principals and have begun paying some students for academics, behavior and attendance. As we near the midway point of his term, Kavitha Cardoza speaks with Mayor Fenty about the past two years.

When holiday stress gets too much, thoughts of running away and joining the circus can be strangely appealing. Kooza runs through December 14th at the National Harbor in Maryland.
There are few certainties in this world. But we CAN count on some things. The leaves will fall in autumn. Day follows night. And on the Friday after Thanksgiving, The Grandsons will visit Metro Connection.
We're thankful to have DC area roots rockers The Grandsons back in our studios for their 4th annual Thanksgiving visit. Alan MacEwen on guitar and vocals, Chris Watling on sax, Matthew Sedgley on drums and Mo Nelson on bass.
The band plays a show at the Barns at Wolftrap in Vienna, Virginia on Black Friday, Nov. 28 at 8pm.
