Cheap Gas

Writer Andrew Hiller knows a lot of us are traveling this holiday weekend. And while he admits the price at the pump leaves him temporarily speechless these days, he wants us to know there are things worse than expensive gas. Like cheap gas.

Writer Andrew Hiller lives in Silver Spring and avoids driving as much as possible.

The Masqueraders - 100 Years

Back in 1846 a theater group formed on the campus of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis. But it wasn't until 1907 that the group officially became "The Masqueraders." The company celebrated its first century this week with alumni from around the country. Stephanie Kaye was in Annapolis as the Masqueraders rang in the big "one-double-oh."

Post-Thanksgiving Party with The Grandsons

Thanksgiving with the Grandsons has become an annual tradition here on Metro Connection. OK, so it's the day AFTER Thanksgiving.

Every year DC-area roots rockers the Grandsons bring their post-Turkey Day party to the Barns at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia. And they join US for an in-studio preview. Alan MacEwen on guitar and vocals... Chris Watling on sax... Matthew Sedgley on drums... and Scott McKnight on bass.

The 2007 Thanksgiving Video Turkeys

When we talk about local theatre, restaurants and music on Metro Connection we typically try to steer you toward the GOOD. Not so on Thanksgiving weekend. Once a year the tables are turned and we highlight 3 films that are irredeemably wretched. Critic Bari Biern joins us for "3 Videos No Waiting" - the Thanksgiving turkeys edition.
