DC's Studio Theatre has been a fixture on 14th Street Northwest for three decades. Before the Whole Foods moved in and new condos were built, the theater opened in a former hot dog warehouse. It has since expanded to take over three buildings on the block and provides community meeting space as well as entertainment. To celebrate its history in the neighborhood, the theater is hosting a full weekend of festivities with behind-the-scenes tours and a free jazz concert, with more anniversary events scheduled throughout the upcoming season. Metro Connection's Stephanie Kaye met with founding artistic director Joy Zinoman to talk about hitting the big three-oh.
