Listen to how Lean & Hungry Theater turns classic Shakespeare into "a radio play" that anyone can understand-from kids to seniors.

Lean & Hungry Theater presents a one-hour science fiction radio adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest, directed by Hannah Todd. The time is the distant future; the place, far across the universe in the Naples Galaxy. Prospero and his daughter, Miranda, live on a small planet, where their spaceship crash landed after Prospero was ousted from his dukedom by his usurping brother. With only Miranda, the hideous alien Caliban, and a sentient computer program named Ariel for company, Prospero has waited for a chance to get his revenge on Antonio and his ally, the Queen of the Naples Galaxy. When Antonio and the Queen, along with the queen's son Ferdinand, fly close to Prospero's planet, he forces them to crash land by creating a cosmic tempest. Using his mastery of technology, Prospero sends everyone into a mad, hilarious dance - scheming brothers, buffoonish butlers, young lovers, aliens and computers all chasing each other around the planet - until he brings them all together for the final confrontation.
