Play associated audio

Lean & Hungry Theater and WAMU 88.5 present "MacBeth in the 21st Century," a one-hour adaptation of the original Shakespeare work which was named by the Washington City Paper as a Critic's Pick for the fall theater season.

WAMU 88.5 producer Karen Munson, in collaboration with Lean & Hungry Theater, has adapted the play to a one-hour presentation set in an alternate 21st-century Washington, D.C. Shakespeare's traditional language is incorporated, with contemporary style news reports and a narrator who breaks in periodically to recap the play's events.

Lean & Hungry co-founders Jessica Hansen and Alex Zavistovich star as the Macbeths, and Jessica Hansen adapted the script with Karen Munson.
