The Kojo Nnamdi Show features two-hours of news, political issues and social trends of the day in a magazine program format.

Nnamdi, a native of Guyana, lends a global perspective to front page headlines and explores emerging stories before they are news. "Maybe the best interviewer in town," according to The Washington Post, Kojo's inviting on-air style encourages guests and callers to discover new points of view, embrace controversy and spark new ideas. Listeners are encouraged to call into the show, offering everyone a chance to be part of the dialogue. The Kojo Nnamdi Show airs on WAMU weekdays, noon to 2 pm.

The Kojo Nnamdi Show debuted in 1991 as The Derek McGinty Show and was renamed Public Interest when McGinty left the program in January 1998. Nnamdi became host of the show in August 1998 and the name changed to The Kojo Nnamdi Show in September 2002.

Nnamdi immigrated to the United States in 1968 to attend college and explore the civil rights movement. He has hosted WHUT-TV's public affairs show Evening Exchange since 1985, and he worked as a news editor and director before that.
