Maybe you are too intimidated by steep hills and busy streets to ride a bicycle to work. Join Kojo as we explore what this ambitious cyclist learned on his journey.

And despite new revelations about ties between his ruling party and violent paramilitary forces, he remains popular across the country. We get an update on the "parapolitics" scandal, and the state of relations between Bogota and Washington.

13:28A Chaplain's Account of the Death Penalty

Few issues in American culture are as emotionally explosive as capital punishment. The death penalty is a particularly sensitive topic now that the Supreme Court has opened the door for thousands of suspended executions to move forward. But filmmaker Steve James isn't someone who shies away from controversial topics. We discuss his most recent documentary on the death penalty, and look back at his previous work -- which tackled everything from the Iraq war to the cruelty of inner-city life in Chicago.

Guests

Steve James, Producer/Director/Editor, "At the Death House Door"; also produced "Hoop Dreams," "The War Tapes," and "Reel Paradise"
