William Styron is the acclaimed author of novels including "Lie Down in Darkness," "The Confessions of Nat Turner," and "Sophie's Choice." He's also known for the way he dealt openly with his own struggles with depression, in his 1990 memoir "Darkness Visible." He joins Diane to talk about the professional successes and personal difficulties he's encountered throughout his life.

Judith Thurman's new biography focuses on the life of one of France's greatest and most notorious novelists and personalities, Colette. Thurman joins Diane to talk about her portrait of an elusive woman, prodigious writer, and misunderstood idol. Her book is called "Secrets of the Flesh: A Life of Colette."
