Oct. 10-Nov. 3: Extremities
Halloween is still a few weeks off, but it's not too early for some scary entertainment. Molotov Theatre Group's production of Extremities opens today at the District of Columbia Arts Center, where it will be on stage through November 3. Directed by Michael Wright, the psychological drama by William Mastrosimone focuses on the victim of a violent attempted rape as she fights to turn the tables on her attacker.

Oct. 11-17: We Are What We Are
We Are What We Are opens tomorrow at E Street Cinema in Washington, where it will be playing through October 17. In this re-imagined version of the 2010 Mexican film by the same name, director Jim Mickle paints a portrait of a seemingly wholesome family with a dark secret. By keeping to themselves, the Parkers have managed to hide the gruesome truth that they, like their ancestors before them, are cannibals. But when a major storm rolls through town, it threatens to expose their macabre traditions.
