Sept. 13-Oct. 22: Codex on the Flight of Birds
Flight…how does it work? Leonardo da Vinci tried to figure it out in his early-16th century document Codex on the Flight of Birds, which goes on view today at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in D.C. In the notebook, da Vinci explores bird flight and behavior through sketches and descriptions of devices and aerodynamic principles related to mechanical flight. You can see the treasured artifact through October 22.
