Jul. 17-21: Quidam
Starting this Wednesday, you can slip into the whimsical world of a young girl’s imagination in Quidam, a Cirque du Soleil production. Ignored by her detached and apathetic parents, Zoé seeks to fill the emptiness by receding into her daydreams. More than 50 members of the Montreal-based circus arts group will be leaping, swinging, and balancing their way across the Patriot Center stage in Fairfax through Sunday.

Jul. 15-Aug. 4: The Rocky Horror Show
But you don’t have to wait until mid-week to see some quirky entertainment. You can do the time warp at The Studio Theatre in D.C., where The Rocky Horror Show will be rose-tinting worlds through August 4. Richard O’Brien’s comical science-fiction and horror-tinged musical follows a newly-engaged straight-laced couple who find themselves stranded in a castle full of off-beat individuals. There, a mad scientist takes his reluctant houseguests on a journey they’ll never forget.
