May 2-Jun. 23: Paintings of the Potomac Valley Watercolorists
Spring is in the air, and this month you can check out paintings by members of Potomac Valley Watercolorists, a juried society of water media artists. The exhibit is on view through June 23 at Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria.
May 2: HearArts
You can head to VisArts at Rockville at 7 p.m. for HearArts, a spoken word and music series. Tonight's free event features a reading by fiction writer Michael Downs and a performance by Sanctuary, a musical group that plays recorders and other instruments from the Renaissance and Baroque eras.
May 3-26: Angle of Incidence and Western Landscapes
Starting tomorrow you can see two new exhibits at The Artists' Gallery in Frederick. "Angle of Incidence" features still life paintings by Marie Riccio that focus on the relationship between light and color. Joanna Morrison's work in "Western Landscapes" was inspired by the natural world. Both exhibits will be up through May 26.
