Feb. 26-Apr. 7: Beyond the Blue and Grey: The Virginia Home Front
Textbooks, galleries and museums often present art and information detailing the Civil War, but what was life like for those living off the battle field? Beyond the Blue and Grey: The Virginia Home Front explores the places, social history and other aspects of daily life that affected Virginians during the period from 1830 to 1880. You can see the collection of artifacts, paintings and photographs at ArtSpace Herndon through April 7.

Feb. 26-Mar. 17: The Two Gentlemen of Verona
The Two Gentlemen of Verona is widely considered to be one of Shakespeare's first plays. In Chesapeake Shakespeare Company's modern rendition of the offbeat comedy, best bros Proteus and Valentine find themselves caught in a 1990s love triangle as the privileged pair battle for the affections of the same woman. You can see the show through March 17 at The Other Barn in Columbia.
