This is The Snails' second tour with old school ska artist King Django.

Tonight you can get up and dance circles around yourself at Solly's Tavern on U Street, where multiple groups from the Verizon City Tour will participate in Bluebeat DC's monthly ska and reggae night. The evening will feature performances by old school artist King Django, Philadelphia-based reggae group The Snails, Matt MacLeod of The Heavy Beat, and D.C. ska band the Originators. The different groups present a variety of styles, which you can check out starting at 8 p.m.

Dec. 20-Feb. 24: Torn in Two: 150th Anniversary of the Civil War
Morgan State University History Professor Dr. Debra Newman Ham will discuss emancipation in the United States at a free gallery talk tonight, held in conjunction with The Ford's Theatre Society's current exhibition, Torn in Two: 150th Anniversary of the Civil War. The exhibit includes maps, political cartoons and other artifacts that help explain the causes of and strategies behind the Civil War, and how that war impacted American lives. The collection is up at the Center for Education and Leadership through February 24.
