Nov. 9-18: FotoWeekDC Festival
Say cheese! The 5th Annual FotoWeekDC Festival starts today, running through November 18th. There'll be events, exhibits, and educational programming across the DC region as part of the festival, which shines a light on photography, photojournalism, and emerging photographers. You can go online to see the full list of events, including "101 Photos for Press Freedom," an exhibit at The Warner Building that honors Reporters Without Borders' 25th anniversary. The collection includes images by famed photojournalists René Burri, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Elliot Erwitt, and many more.

Nov. 10: "Re-Imagining the Holidays"
The Downtown Silver Spring Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County kicks off the holiday season tomorrow evening with the unveiling of Holiday Destination, a 30-foot-tall installation made from bottles donated by Silver Spring residents and visitors. Local artist Julia Vogl spray-painted each of the bottles a different color to indicate where its donor plans to spend the holidays.
