(Sept. 26-Oct. 7) Carnival of the Animals
All too often Art Beat caters to the adults in the room or the car. Well, not today! The Puppet Co. at Glen Echo Park has Carnival of the Animals through October 7. A young boy falls asleep and the toys in his room come to life in the epic zoological fantasy. It features life-sized puppets, and it's mostly for people under ten years of age.
(Sept. 29-Dec. 15) Masterpiece Children's Theatre
The National Theatre in Northwest is all about the tykes this season-at least on Saturday mornings. Every one through mid-December brings a different production aimed at children or the inner child in you. The subject matter varies, but expect plays about reptiles, Hawaiian hula, ghosts, Hanukah, and a mean old man named Scrooge. Audience participation is encouraged.
(Sept. 29) Dance the day away at Dance Place
If you love to dance and you know some kids who love to dance, there's a perfect day of workshops and activities waiting for you in Northeast this weekend. Dance Place holds its Family Day Saturday from 10 to 5. There will quite literally be something for everyone.
