(June 26) You can dance if you want to
New York’s Ballet Hispanico brings all sorts of sultry moves to Vienna’s Wolf Trap tonight. The dance troupe performs an all-Cuban program that celebrates music and movement going back to Spain and Africa. If you want to dance along but are feeling a little rusty, the company is holding dance lessons today from 10:30 to noon.
(June 26) Requiem for a Chorale
If you’re more of a singer than a dancer, there’s still some spotlight left for you. Washington’s New Dominion Chorale has its annual Summer Sings concerts at the Western Presbyterian Church in Northwest. Tonight, the group needs your help to tackle Mozart’s Requiem.
(June 26-July 2) That’s an order!
For some choral fun, Requiem isn’t the only game in town. Serenade! brings nine choirs from five continents to the region this week and next for performances at a number of venues, including Strathmore, The Kennedy Center, and the National Cathedral. You’ll be treated to South African freedom songs, aboriginal tunes from Australia, and lots of Canadians.
