(June 19-July 1) Turn up that dial…
When you think of love stories set in the segregated 1950s, Bon Jovi probably doesn’t come to mind. But that might change after you see Memphis at The Kennedy Center. The Tony Award-winning musical is about a white DJ falling in love with rock n’ roll and an electrifying black singer in the 50s, and it features music penned by one of the glam band’s founding members. Memphis is in the Opera House through the end of the month.

(June 20-Aug. 12) The Lion, The Witch, & The Ballet
If you’ve always wondered how the work of C.S. Lewis would look as a ballet, you are in for a treat. Imagination Stage collaborates with The Washington Ballet to present The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe tomorrow through mid-August in Bethesda. The story is staged with theater, dance, and - in the case of Aslan - puppetry.

(June 19-July 15) The trial and tribulations of Goldilocks
There’s more artistic liberty being taken with a classic story at the Puppet Company Playhouse in Glen Echo Park. In a tongue-in-cheek retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears the audience hears both sides of the story and then decides where the truth lies.
