(June 2-3) Dupont Circle goes with an open door policy
Documenting Dupont invites locals and visitors to explore the many cultural landmarks of Dupont Circle this weekend, including its museums. There will be special events and free admission at several of them, including the National Geographic Museum, The Phillips Collection, and The Textile Museum, which hosts its 34th Annual Celebration of Textiles with weaving and spinning demonstrations, Cambodian dancers, and a live sheep shearing.

(June 1-24) Livin’ on the Edge
A number of D.C. artists were invited to explore creative limits and life’s boundaries for Art on the Edge, opening at Del Rey Artisans in Alexandria today. The group draws inspiration from just about everything to create bold sculpture, photography, and paintings.

(June 2) Diva on the Edge
When it comes to edgy music there’s Big Freedia and then there’s everything else. The undisputed “Queen Diva” of New Orleans’ hip-hop-inspired bounce music brings a dance party carnival to Northeast Washington’s Rock & Roll Hotel Saturday night. Freedia and her team promise to make you shake it like a Polaroid picture.
