The Third Annual DC Bluegrass Festival kicks off today at College Park’s Holiday Inn. National and local performers harmonize inside and out and you’re invited to strum along. If you need a quick primer there will be workshops. If you like a fair fight there will be a bluegrass battle of the bands.

Northern Virginia’s own storytelling posse Better Said Than Done brings Truth, Justice and the American Way …of Lying to Epicure Cafe in Fairfax Saturday night. The show appeals to the cynic in all of us with stories about big fat liars, criminal minds, and the search for truth.

Israeli choreographer Ohad Naharin was out of commission with a back injury some years ago. While looking for new ways to move his body that wouldn’t cause pain he invented the fluid Gaga dance. He’s joined by three fellow leading choreographers to showcase Gaga and other innovative moves Saturday night in NEXT: Israel at Washington’s Sidney Harman Hall.
