(Dec. 2-4) Ho! Ho! Holiday Concerts!
It’s December in the District and if you listen hard enough there’s probably a holiday concert within earshot. The Catholic University holds its annual Christmas Concert for Charity tomorrow in Northeast Washington. There’ll be a symphony orchestra, a number of choirs and really big organs.
For more choral arrangements the Capitol Hill Chorale performs A Jazzy Christmas along with a quality clarinetist Saturday and Sunday at the Lutheran Church of the Reformation on East Capitol Street.
Vienna’s Wolf Trap holds its Holiday Sing-A-Long Sunday afternoon. Members of local choirs and vocal groups belt out Christmas and Hanukkah songs. You’re encouraged to bring a couple of candles.
(Dec. 3-31) Black Nativity
There’s holiday theater at Northeast’s H Street Playhouse beginning Saturday. Langston Hughes’s Black Nativity retells the story with an all black cast, dance and a gospel choir.
Music: “Linus and Lucy” by Vince Guaraldi
