(Sept. 14-18) All Roads Film Festival
National Geographic hosts The All Roads Film Festival today through Sunday. Indigenous and minority culture film, photography and music from across the globe are showcased at the National Geographic Society building in Northwest Washington. The five days of international insights include a “Global Groove” dance party, a documentary about a paraplegic street band from the Democratic Republic of Congo and a photo essay portraying some of the contradictions found in the modern Arab world.

(Sept. 15) Tangshan Shadow Puppet Theatre
For some insights from the world of Chinese shadow puppetry you can head to the Kennedy Center tomorrow evening. The acclaimed Tangshan Shadow Puppet Theatre performs classics of traditional Chinese puppetry, including The Crane and the Tortoise and A Clever Monkey.
