Schedule Changes

We are pleased to announce changes to WAMU 88.5‘s weekend schedule. The new lineup will include weekly slots for audience favorites and new shows, highlighting fresh voices on the public radio scene.

Starting Aug. 16, at 8 p.m.,* Fridays, the hour-long news magazine The World airs, followed by the Peabody Award-winning Moth Radio Hour at 9 p.m., and Q with Jian Ghomeshi at 10 p.m.

Beginning Aug. 17, Coastal Connection, a weekly look at the people and culture of the Delmarva Peninsula, airs at 5 a.m., Saturdays, followed by Bob Edwards Weekend. Later, Judy Carmichael’s Jazz Inspired brings celebrated musicians to explore the creative process at 11 p.m., followed by BBC World Service at midnight.

On Aug. 18, the new Sunday schedule unfolds with The Animal House at 5 a.m. In the afternoon, a lineup of groundbreaking public radio favorites begins at noon with Radiolab. At 1 p.m., music and storytelling collide on Snap Judgment, followed by a look at the week’s biggest news stories on Day 6 at 2 p.m., and sharp analysis of issues in journalism and technology by On the Media at 3 p.m.

For those of you who are fans of Traditions with Mary Cliff, you can now listen to an extended program on Bluegrass Country 105.5 FM, airing Saturdays, from 9 p.m.-midnight beginning Aug. 17. On Aug. 18, A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor premieres in its new weekly time slot on Bluegrass Country 105.5 FM at 1 p.m.
