Funeral plans are in place for a Prince William County police officer who died in a New Year's Eve Day crash. Officer Chris Yung, 35, died after his police motorcycle struck a minivan on Route 28 in Bristow, Va. Dec. 31.

A wake for Yung is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Hylton Memorial Chapel in Woodbridge. A funeral is set for Friday  at 10 a.m., also at the Hylton Memorial Chapel.

Police say Yung was on his way to the scene of another accident and was heading south on Nokesville Road when his motorcycle struck the minivan. Yung was taken to a hospital, where he died. No one else was hurt.

Yung, who is survived by his wife and three young children, was a seven-year veteran of the department and worked for the traffic unit.
