UVA On Notice From Accrediting Panel After Sullivan Scandal

After scrutinizing the governing practices of the University of Virginia, an accrediting panel has put the school on warning status, according to the Associated Press.

It all started with a letter that The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools sent to UVA in October saying that members were going to look into whether the university acted with integrity in its failed attempt to remove President Teresa Sullivan over the summer. The letter went on to state that the association was planning to review faculty's role in governance. 

Sullivan  was forced to resign in June, but was reinstated about two weeks later after a campus and community backlash. 

The university says it has complied with the principles of accreditation, state law, and its own policies.
