Drivers planning to travel in the District of Columbia today may face road closures in downtown D.C. as a result of a 5k race. The 11th annual Trot For Hunger is organized by So Others Might Eat, a Washington-based charity that provides food, clothing and other services to the city's poor.

The race begins at 9 a.m. at 12th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Northwest D.C. A full list of closures is available from the Metropolitan Police Department.

The route winds its way east along Pennsylvania Avenue before heading south in front of the Capitol to fourth and E streets Southwest and then loops back to Freedom Plaza.

Some roads along the race route are expected to reopen by 10:30 a.m. All roads should reopen around 1:30 p.m.
