After DNC, Virginia Delegates Will Bring Obama's Charge Home

Virginia delegates at the Democratic National Convention say President Obama's speech last evening is inspiring them to spread his message when they return home. 

President Obama has struggled to excite voters like he did in 2008. But delegates from Virginia said his Thursday evening speech was "electric." The president's speech caps off a week that challenged Republican distortions and falsehoods lobbed at the Obama Administration, the delegates said. 

As for the takeaway? Rep. Bobby Scott (D) says it's now evident the president has taken dramatic steps to prevent a great recession. 

"The Republicans apparently acknowledge that they made the mess but are complaining that Democrats haven't cleaned it up fast enough," Scott says.  "Well, we're moving in the right direction but not as quickly as anybody would like."

Scott doesn't think it's going to be hard to energize the president's supporters on Election Day.
