: Morning Edition 
A Maryland task force is at work studying access to guns for people who are mentally disabled, according to the Associated Press.
The panel is trying to decide whether current state laws are adequate or need to be changed. Right now, most private psychiatric information is not available to gun regulators in the state. The group is also is looking at policies relating to the access law enforcement officials have to individuals' mental health records, and whether that access should be expanded.
The task force comes as some state officials express a heightened concern over recent mass shootings across the country, and threats of mass gun violence in the state.
The panel is expected to release their findings to Gov. Martin O'Malley in December.
