Allen Commits To Three More Debates In Senate Race

Three more debates have been scheduled in the hotly contested U.S. Senate race in Virginia between former governors George Allen (R) and Tim Kaine (D), according to the Associated Press.

Allen's campaign has agreed to a September 20 debate in McLean hosted by the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce. That's been a staple of every modern statewide candidate for years and often generates news changing the course of campaigns.

Then Allen and  Kaine will meet in a Richmond for a debate Oct. 8, followed by another Oct. 18 on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg.

Kaine has already accepted proposals for all three of those debates back in June, as well as  proposals for five more broadcast debates.
