Fairfax Police Arrest Woman In Road Rage Fueled Hit-And-Run

Victim's mother mourns loss of her daughter

A woman accused of a hit and run accident that police say was prompted by road rage is under arrest. Fairfax county police arrested 32-year-old Gloria McMillan May 7.

McMillan is accused of running over 21-year-old Shelinda Arrington in what police are calling a road rage attack. 

The deadly encounter happened Friday, May 4 shortly before noon, when Arrington pulled into traffic from the driveway of her Alexandria apartment building. Arrington may have cut off two vehicles, including the black Chevy SUV driven by McMillan. Police and witnesses say Arrington got out of her car to speak to the drivers and was run over by McMillan who fled the scene.

The victim's mother, Tonya Moore, says the arrest is no consolation for her loss.

"She was my best friend, my everything, my only child and now she's gone," Moore said. McMillan was charged with felony hit and run.
