Romney Expected To Win D.C. Primary

Mitt Romney is expected to coast to victory Tuesday in D.C.'s Republican presidential primary, despite spending little time or money courting voters in the nation's capital, according to Associated Press.

The winner-take-all primary offers 16 delegates to the Republican National Convention, but Romney and his rivals have barely campaigned in the District. 

Rick Santorum isn't even on the ballot. Voters will choose between Romney, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman, a onetime favorite of district Republican leaders. Huntsman has dropped out of the race. 

Most prominent Republicans in the District are now backing Romney. In a straw poll Monday at the District GOP's annual fundraising dinner, Romney won with 72 percent of the vote. 

The District has just over 30,000 registered Republicans, or 6.6 percent of the electorate.
