A Washington attorney says another plea deal is on the way in the corruption case and resignation of a D.C. Council member.

According to attorney Vandy Jamison, James Garvin, a golf pro from the Washington area with ties to former Council member Harry Thomas Jr., will sign a plea deal next week. Jamison declined to comment further.

Thomas pleaded guilty earlier this month to stealing more than $350,000 in government money, much of which was slated for a youth sports program.

Jamison made the comments as another client he represents, 71-year-old Marshall D. Banks, pleaded guilty Friday in federal court to helping cover up the theft of government funds by Thomas. According to court documents, Garvin, a golf pro at a Washington course, worked with Banks at a foundation from which Thomas was accused of misappropriating funds.
