The Shakespeare Theatre Company presents [Coriolanus] through June 2 at Sidney Harman Hall. Bloodstained, scarred, and laden with ceremony, this tragedy directed by David Muse blends modern tastes with ancient sensibilities.

Apr. 15-May 26: Mary Margaret Pipkin

Just in time for this Saturday's Old Town Alexandria 80th Annual Historic Homes and Garden Tour, you can see a collection of oversized floral paintings by Mary Margaret Pipkin at the Athenaeum in Old Town Alexandria through May 26. In her solo exhibit, the artist captures trees and flowers in detailed watercolor paintings.

Apr. 15-28: Absence

You can head to The Griffin Art Center in Frederick to check out work by three local artists: Johan Lowie, Doug Moulden, and Robert SibbisonAbsence features paintings and sculpture that do not include human figures, which speaks to the friends the artists have lost over the years.
