An onstage pool adds a unique element to the set of Metamorphoses at Arena Stage.
Feb. 18-Mar. 17: Metamorphoses
Love is a powerful emotion with the ability to heal, destroy, and transform us. In Metamorphoses, lust, romance, greed and redemption are addressed through tales from ancient mythology. MacArthur "Genius" and Tony Award-winning director Mary Zimmerman wrote and directed the play based on translated work by Roman poet Ovid. Lyrical storytelling and a giant pool set the scene for this dreamlike production. You can catch this transformative work at Arena Stage through March 17, but be advised that the performance does include nudity and adult themes.
Feb. 18-May 31: Snapshots of the Almighty
Peter Guttmacher says nature has always been his church, and in his first solo photography exhibit, the artist attempts to find God when and where he can, with images that span several decades of travel and experiences, and reflect his interpretive views on religion. You can see Snapshots of the Almighty at New Community ArtSpace through May 31.
