Jan. 7-27: Between the Lines: Contemporary Drawing Now

The Torpedo Factory Art Center's Target Gallery just opened its latest exhibit, Between the Lines: Contemporary Drawing Now, which highlights current trends in drawing through a 17-piece all-media collection. Juror Linn Meyers selected the artwork by nine artists, including five locals, and will host a discussion with the artists this Thursday at 7 p.m. You can check out the exhibition through the 27th.

Jan. 7- Feb. 15: Number the Days

Can you draw a map of your memories? Local artist Lori Anne Boocks attempts to do just that in her latest collection of paintings, Number the Days, which will be up at the River Road Unitarian Universalist Congregation through February 15th. Numbers and words serve as the subject matter as Boocks uses paint to explore human emotions and relationships.

Jan. 8-14: National Symphony Orchestra in Your Neighborhood 2013

Tomorrow night you can head to The Howard Theatre for the National Symphony Orchestra in Your Neighborhood kick-off event. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and while tickets are free, registration is required.
